TP.HCM đang chuẩn bị bước vào một thời khắc lịch sử khi đề án sáp nhập với hai tỉnh liền kề là Bình Dương và Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu đã được HĐND thành phố thông qua.
Sự hợp nhất này không đơn thuần là việc gộp địa giới hành chính mà được ví như kiến tạo một trung tâm kinh tế - đô thị quy mô lớn, có khả năng cạnh tranh tầm khu vực.
Theo đánh giá từ giới chuyên gia, việc sáp nhập sẽ tạo ra dư địa phát triển vượt trội nhờ vào vị trí liền kề và mạng lưới giao thông đã, đang được đầu tư mạnh giữa ba địa phương. Quỹ đất mở rộng không chỉ giúp TP.HCM mới có thêm không gian để giải bài toán giãn dân mà còn mở đường cho các đô thị vệ tinh và khu đô thị mới hiện đại hình thành. Đặc biệt, việc đồng bộ hạ tầng từ đường bộ đến đường thủy, cảng biển sẽ là yếu tố tuyệt vời để nâng cao năng lực logistics và kết nối toàn vùng.
Với tổng diện tích rộng hơn nhiều lần TP.HCM hiện tại, đô thị mới có cơ hội xây dựng những quy hoạch “từ gốc”. Đây là điều kiện lý tưởng để hình thành các trung tâm đô thị mới, khu công nghệ cao, đại đô thị vệ tinh – những yếu tố giúp TP.HCM giảm tải dân số, hạ tầng và áp lực môi trường sống.
Về thế mạnh, TP.HCM hiện vẫn là đầu tàu kinh tế với vai trò trung tâm tài chính, thương mại và dịch vụ lớn nhất cả nước. Trong khi đó, Bình Dương nổi lên như một thủ phủ công nghiệp năng động, có tốc độ đô thị hoá nhanh và dân số trẻ. Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu lại sở hữu lợi thế chiến lược về cảng biển và du lịch. Việc kết nối ba thế mạnh này trong một cấu trúc hành chính thống nhất sẽ tạo ra vùng kinh tế đa trụ, cân bằng và bền vững hơn.
TP.HCM sau sáp nhập có thể trở thành hình mẫu cho mô hình đại đô thị vùng đầu tiên của Việt Nam – nơi không chỉ quy tụ dân cư và doanh nghiệp, mà còn lan tỏa động lực phát triển cho toàn bộ khu vực phía Nam.

Sau sắp xếp, tỉnh nào giảm cấp xã nhiều nhất cả nước?
Bộ Nội vụ đang tập trung thẩm định 34 đề án sắp xếp đơn vị hành chính, trong đó Hà Nội giảm đến 76% số xã, phường sau sắp xếp, dẫn đầu cả nước, còn thành phố Cần Thơ giảm đơn vị cấp xã ít nhất, khoảng 60%.
